Year 7 Program

To aid with transition, year 7 students are taught by a team of teachers who are responsible for delivery of the curriculum, behaviour support and wellbeing.

Students in Year 7 are taught by a small number of teachers, to aid in the building of positive relationships between students and staff. This is also supported through the extensive transition program where students have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with Sale College before attending formal classes.

The curriculum is delivered, in conjunction with pastoral sessions, to give year 7 students a broad overview of all subjects offered at Sale College and to allow them to make an educated decision about future pathways.

Within the Year 7 program, students have the opportunity to participate in:

  • Steps and Discovery lessons designed to integrate core subjects
  • 'The Red Carpet' program designed to improve the transition from primary school
  • Specialist subjects such as Engaging in Asia, Music, Art, Textiles, Woodwork and Robotics
  • Literacy & Numeracy Support through the QuickSmart Program
  • Instrumental Music
  • Year 7 Camp
  • Hands On Learning Program
  • The Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program
  • Bug Blitz Program
  • International Exchange Programs Interschool Sports

Year 7 Student Leaders

In an exciting development for Year Seven, students from each class were given the opportunity to apply for the position of Student Leader. Each grade elected one student, which will result in significant involvement as a leader in many areas and events.
A coveted position within the Leadership Team will require dedication and a fierce drive from elected students to develop their leadership skills. Congratulations to the following students for being elected by their peers:

  • 7.1 Kyal Beddows
  • 7.2 Ethan Andrews
  • 7.3 Jack Love
  • 7.4 Kane Stammers
  • 7.5 Jai Kerton
  • 7.6 Nicholas Wheeler
  • 7.7 Seth Shiels-Baker
