The festival vibe provided opportunities for students of all interests and abilities to be involved in the day with our incredible music students providing entertainment and novelty events. A HUGE congratulations to each and every student who competed on the day.

The Year Seven cohort completed their Cross Country recently in the bright sunshine and with plenty of enthusiasm. The decision was made to make the Year Seven Cross Country a whole year level event and it was a great success. Our Year Sevens should be very proud of the efforts they gave and their behaviour on the day. Congratulations to all students and good luck to the students who will represent our school at the Wellington round.
Recently our Year 8 to 12s competed in the Sale College Cross Country. Unfortunately due to timetable clashes we were unable to make the Cross Country a whole school event. Students who did participate were treated to a great morning although the weather was very fresh. All students who volunteered to either run or walk the course need to be commended. Our students competed in the right spirit and conducted themselves to a very high standard while out in the community. A big thank you needs to be given to teachers and support staff who volunteered their time.
Congratulations to Grainger House who won the Cross Country with a final tally of 148 points. They were closely followed by McIntosh on 145 points and Guthridge on 140 points.
There has been a lot of team sport happening during this term including Football, Socer, Netball and Badminton to name just a few. You can see photos of many of the teams who have competed during Term 2 in the Team Sport Gallery by clicking here.
Earlier this year, Guthridge Campus hosted its' first House Cup Competition. Students participated in Human Hungry Hippos, Gumboot Toss and Scooter board Swimming activities in the gymnasium and on the soccer field. The House Captains came all the way over from Macalister Campus to support the Guthridge students in earning house points. A great time was had by all staff and students involved in this activity day, and we look forward to more House Cup competitions to come.

Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports across the College.
A wide range of individual and team sports are catered for with students progressing from the East Gippsland to Gippsland level and if successful then on to the Southern Zone or State finals.
In recent years students have made State finals in swimming, athletics, cricket, soccer, basketball, tennis and badminton.
Students also have the opportunity to compete against other schools in football, netball, basketball, rugby, table tennis, clay target shooting and lawn bowls.
All students and staff at Sale College belong to one of three Houses; Grainger, McIntosh or Guthridge and compete for their own house in College Events that run throughout the year.
In the past, the Annual House Cup has been awarded to the House that has accumulated the highest number of points across each of the schoo'ls carnivals (swimming, cross country and athletics). However this year, all students will have the opportunity to win points for their house.
All faculty areas will facilitate an event throughout the year that highlights their specific subject area. Since the year has begun, the Health and Physical Education Faculty area have organised lunchtime activities at the Guthridge Campus and the Sports Faculty have run our Sale College Swimming Carnival. Therefore, House points are in full swing.
Students were required to complete a written application form and interview process. The field was very strong and students should continue to pursue leadership opportunities. Congratulations to all the successful candidates. House Captains are pictured below left and the Vice Captains below right.
