Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports across the College either individually or as part of a team.
Sale College held its second whole school Athletics Carnival on the 30th July 2019 at Lions Park. The weather started overcast but the excitement of the whole school participation made for a great day even with a few showers throughout. The School Sports Coordinator begun the day with some announcements, including the introduction of a new event; 'Sale College Gift'. This is awarded to the fastest person across the school in a final 100m race. Student, staff and spectator enthusiasm throughout the day was evident and friendly inter-house competition was enjoyed by all.
The house points competition throughout the day was very close, with a total of 7 points separating 1st place from 3rd. Hats off to McIntosh for willing the overall competition. Well done to all of the athletes on their individual efforts and sportsmanship while competing, and congratulations to the Age Champions for their athletic excellence.
A special congratulations goes to Grace Lucas for winning the 1st ever Sale College Gift.

Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports across the College.
A wide range of individual and team sports are catered for with students progressing from the Wellington to Gippsland level and if successful then on to the Southern Zone or State finals.
In recent years students have made State finals in swimming, cross country, athletics, hockey, soccer, basketball, tennis and badminton.
Students also have the opportunity to compete against other schools in football, netball, basketball, rugby, table tennis, clay target shooting and lawn bowls.
All students and staff at Sale College belong to one of three Houses; Grainger, McIntosh or Guthridge and compete for their own house in College Events that run throughout the year.
In the past, the Annual House Cup has been awarded to the House that has accumulated the highest number of points across each of the schoo'ls carnivals (swimming, cross country and athletics). However , now all students have the opportunity to win points for their house.
In collaboration with staff and students the following award system is implemented for Sport in 2019.
Points awarded per event and ranking - not time spent
Next level/round = more points
Points awarded for novelty events (5 points)
